Today’s practice heats up! It’s now evident that P.K. Subban wants to play said Jacques Martin.

As we covered a few weeks ago, Subban has had altercations before with Tomas Plekanec and Maxim Lapierre. The combination of an intense practice today in New York and a horrible loss yesterday caused tempers to flare in todays practice.

As reported earlier today P.K. Subban and Maxim Lapierre where seen fighting during practice, thankfully before things got out of control veteran defensemen Roman Hamrlik intervened. Arguments and pushing around were also seen between Subban and Tomas Plekanec.

Jacque Martin had this to say about P.K. Subban in todays practice “We want to see this kind of attitude; it shows he’s ready to play and he wants to be in the line-up, nothing wrong being intense in a practice”.

As for the Captain Brian Gionta, he commented that he liked what he’s seen today from Subban, it’s a great attitude to have.

Mathieu Darche on the incident during practice said “Yes the guys are frustrated, the important thing is to bring it against our opponents with the same intensity we did today against our teammates.”

Jacques Martin also stated that without a doubt Carey Price will play against the Washington Capitals Tuesday.

During today’s practice the lines looked like this:

Forward Lines:

Michael Cammalleri – Tomas Plekanec – Andrei Kostitsyn
Brian Gionta – Scott Gomez – Max Pacioretty
Mathieu Darche – Lars-Eller – Benoit Pouliot
Tom Pyatt – Jeff Halpern – Maxim Lapierre

Defensive Lines:

Roman Hamrlik – Jaroslav Spacek
Hal Gill – PK Subban
Alexandre Picard – Yannick Weber

The Canadiens will be leaving Long Island this afternoon and heading straight to Washington. The Habs vs. Capitals tomorrow, the puck drops at 7pm and can be watched on RDS (HD) or TSN (HD).
